By day museums, the art gallery, visitor centres and factory shops of leading pottery firms, leisure centres, waterparks, many shops and places to eat offer a varied choice. If you want to explore a bit more the Staffordshire countryside is within easy reach of the city and is home to Alton Towers and the Foxfield and the Churnet Valley steam railways. For ramblers the dramatic scenery of the Peak District National Park sits on Stoke-on-Trent's outskirts. |
