About Us
Stoke-on-Trent Youth Services is part of Youth, play and Outdoor Education services employed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
We work with other agencies and Council Departments to address the needs of children and young people throughout the city, maintaining voluntary relationships with a focus on enhancing their personal and social development.
Our Mission Statement
“To provide educational and developmental opportunities, experience and support for young people during their transition from childhood to adulthood.” The outcome of our work will be “improved personal effectiveness”.
What can YOU expect from Youth Services?
To have the opportunity to meet with friends and other young people of your own age in a variety of meeting places that are safe, within reasonable travelling distance of your home, where you can relax and have fun.
Have activities available that are fun, that challenge and stretch your limits and imagination, which compliment formal learning, and for which there are opportunities to recognise your contributions and achievements through accreditation.
To have access to information about topics that are important to you and which affect you, allowing you to make informed choices.
You will be encouraged to participate in the fullest sense. Youth workers will encourage you to be actively involved in planning and carrying out activities.
You will be encouraged to express your opinion and have your view heard.
All young people receive fair and equal treatment, being accepted and respected as individuals. We encourage everyone to explore and overcome their limitations, acknowledging and celebrating their differences in order to promote understanding and tolerance.
